There were dreams and there
still are- some broken, some still to come true and some impossible ones that
have seen the light of the day. It’s amazing really-how we wait for things which
shall never come; days that are ornamented with the blossoms of youth in the
mind’s expansive universe; how days that are and will be are still lightened by
the shadows of yesterday. New seeds of hope are sown everyday no matter how
crushed they get. The baffling world travels on and so do I. Like the moon that
ceaselessly shines every night , like the breeze that forever blows and the
flowers that forever blossom, we all will continue to live on..always with old
dreams and new hopes that everyday like the sun shines, we shall continue to live
on. Centuries have passed. People come and go. Yet the world is same as ever.
It’s really good to know that some things never change. When everything that
was shall never again be, when everything that you love, change; it’s the only
thing that gets us going, knowing that some things shall always remain the
same.
"Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sand of time; Footprints, that perhaps another, Sailing o'er life's solemn main, A forlorn and shipwrecked brother, Seeing, shall take heart again."-H.W. Longfellow

Once in a while....
Miles and miles away
Somewhere lay, a half trodden path
Where a fresh breath of air lingers still
Miles it travel, the fragrance
And perfumes the senses
once in a while.

Airplanes
Floating mid air, the world below passes by.
Foams of white clouds the vision-
A moment of majesty beyond a reason.
As a bird she flies
Like a seagull soars
And touches the skies.
Enters she
Into a child’s fantasy
Castles made of white
Here’s a bunny
And there, shapes so funny
Breaks she into a laughter light.
Travels thus she, into far off lands
Stretched over rivers and lakes
and with the dawn, every morn
Into a land of dreams she awakes.

LONGING
(Published in
Mahishamardini year 2012, the annual magazine of the G.U Campus' Puja Commitee)
How much this heart desires
To tread the lanes
Of the place I call home.
Like a feather I fly
And with the wind I go
Crossing the meadow
And the field
And the river and the hill,
The face of this unknown land I
leave.
And from the distance I see
The familiar roads
The houses and the boats
And hear the singing of the
breeze.
Brings it in the sound
Of laughter and joy abound
Of days that with golden are
crowned.
Never have I ever wanted
Never have wished for a prayer
To be so granted
To rush to the bosom
Of my world, my home
When far away in this solitary
land
My heart silently roams.

On We Go..Just Go On
A baffling
tale is life’s twisting lane
Just on and
on we go
We meet, we
drift
As lanes of
life, they fork.
What was,
never returns,
What will be
is what the soul discerns.
The answer
turns to question
The surest
meanings lost.
As move
along down the road
We learn
what matters the most....
Through
bedrocks unshakable,
Trough tides
high
Trudge on we
by and by.
One hope to
see the sun gets us going
Though bleak
clouds sometimes shroud the sky
Learning,
living, longing, dreaming..we go on
through times of despair , laughter nigh
or the days of smiles
when the sun shines high
And comes the dawn
every morn
And on we go..just go on...

Splintered Hearts
(In fond memory of those who lost their lives on 30 October,2008)
Oh! Can you hear the phoenix singing??
My ears are pierced by the song of the phoenix-
A strain so heart rending it pours out from within,
That it reverberates through the very air of doom,
Resonating the plethora of human suffering and pain.
The melancholic wail breaks through
The silence of destruction, planting seed of a tomorrow
Bereft of any hope or desire, the falling sands of time
Failing to make any promises for the new dawn.
How long can one live with the memories of those they have lost-
a constant reminder of the vanished presence brought about by the
Magma of destruction rendering the very life soulless.
Oh helpless bird, couldnt’ u have shed a few tears
To bring the body and the soul together??
I am asking you because the ones who should be asked
Are lying there somewhere, hiding behind their own self,
Ignoring the words of their conscience.
Their hearts have turned to steel, their minds devoid of emotions.
I look up to the heaven and ask why???
But is there anyone to answer??
The heartless souls are all mum
Because there is nothing more to be said and done,
So its you dear Phoenix who must answer
To the ones whose eyes are never going to dry-
The very light being dimmed
Forever from their lives.
